Vedic Vaastu

Are you looking for a new house or new office but are overwhelmed by the wide range of options available? Are you thinking of starting a business and wondering where to locate it or what is the basic guidelines for Vedic Vaastu? Or perhaps you are about to purchase or construct the new property but still needs some expertise opinion. The tradition of Vaastu may help answer your questions and offer valuable guidance and suggestions.
Vaastu Vidya’s knowledge is one of the most valuable treasures of ancient Indian knowledge. The word Vaastu means to dwell and Vidya means science; hence Vaastu Vidya is the sacred science related to designing and building houses .Viswakarma, Maya and many more are the sthapathis (Architects Sculptors, Engineers, painters, Interior Designers etc, of devas and Asuras dealing with the science of Vastu. The most important books like Manasara, Mayamatam Viswakarma, Vastu sastram, Vastu vidya, Silpa Vignana Sangraham Silparatnam, Brihatsamhita etc and many more written in sanskrit are the classics of Vaastu. In addition to the above ancient works, the principle vastu shilpsastra are abundantly found in the various puranas like Agni purana, Brahmananda purana, Devi Purana, Varaha Puranam, Vishnu Dharmottara Puranam etc.
According to Indian Shilpacharyas the term Shilp Shastra includes the three division of vaastu, Construction of houses, Temples, Palaces etc., otherwise known as architecture.
Vaastu is rooted in Vedic philosophy, which emerged around 4500 years ago. Vaastu aims to restore the balance between the home ( the microcosm) and the cosmos ( the macrocosm), bringing health, wealth and happiness.
According to Vaastu, the external and the internal are interchangeable, for underlying energies that govern the elements, such as Air, or Fire, are the same as those that control the organs of the human body. However, in recent times, the essential connection between the two has been forgotten, modern human kind having dissociated itself from the fundamental forces that govern the universe.
Vaastu contains the hidden key to realigning the home with cosmic principals such as solar energy, the movement of the celestial spheres, the magnetic field of the earth, gravity and the influence of the moon and the sun.
In Vaastu, it is understood that the energy lines run like a large grid across the earth, from North to South and from East to West. Orientating living and working space using a proper compass in accord with these space directions has a direct influence on the residents. This electromagnetic field affects the human body at a vibratory level, as each single cell in the body acts like a receiver. Human consciousness also responds instinctively to the cardinal directions; the east is the direction from which the Sun rises, ushering each new day, thereby representing the essence of all beginnings; the west indicates opposite, for as the Sun dims we are reminded of endings, the unknown, and the darkness; the North is the direction of the Pole Star; the fixed point in the sky that denotes the stability and security; the South represents the past and our ancestry. These cardinal points symbolize earth and the ground rocks, from which all forms emerge.
If the mind is upset, the whole body is thrown out of balance, inducing illness. The energy channels of the body, or nadis, receive subtle cosmic energy referred to as prana. Vaastu principles stipulates that if prana is functioning properly within the home, it ensures good health, wealth and happiness. Those who ignore the advice of the Vaastu Shastras ( rules and regulations pertaining to Vaastu) will experience continual sorrow and disappointment.
